Web services infrastructure software provider Systinet has announced that BMC Software, Inc. has released its first product utilizing Systinet's Web Applications and Services Platform (WASP). BMC Software employed WASP to deliver BMC Impact Integration Developer's Kit for building integration solutions for its BMC Service Impact Manager (SIM) environment. BMC Software solutions span enterprise systems, applications, database and service management. SIM plays a key part of BMC Software's Business Service Management strategy by delivering real-time service impact management and business relevance information to the IT organization.

WASP was chosen to enable SIM with Web services interfaces and simplify the way customers and partners integrate it with their applications and products. BMC Software selected WASP in order to help further its plans to Web services-enable its products, and has licensed the Systinet suite of products to be used as the recommended development toolkit for its development teams.

The terms of the multi-year, enterprise license agreement give BMC Software access to Systinet's Java and C/C++ server, as well at the company's UDDI registry, allowing BMC Software to embed the Systinet products within its products.

"BMC Software is the premier supplier of enterprise management technology and has taken a lead in providing management solutions using Web services," said Roman Stanek, founder and CEO, Systinet Corporation. "We're very pleased to have been selected by BMC Software to help the company Web services-enable its solutions."

"It is more critical now than ever before for us to have agility in product integration and to open our products to partners. Web services is today's best technology choice to achieve this," said Eugene Golovinsky, director of common technologies, BMC Software. "Selecting a Web services technology partner was a strategically important decision for BMC. Systinet met our needs by providing a mature, technically-sophisticated suite of products and by showing a long-term vision for service-oriented integration that matched our objectives."
